New Bus Dock in Action

Our new bus dock opened this week for a trial run in preparation for next school year.  Students were first picked up at dismissal.  We then added morning drop-off as well.  Our Director of Transportation and our Director of Facilities were there to monitor the process.  Pennwood staff also assisted students in finding their buses at the new location.

Today, six of our 6th grade teachers and their students moved into the new addition at Pennwood.

The Great Locker Changeover

To prepare for the move into our new addition, most sixth grade students changed their locker location today.  Thanks to the support of staff and the hard work of students, we are ready for classes on Monday, May 8th.

Countdown to Move!

We are anticipating moving several sixth grade classes into the new wing on Monday, May 8th.  Students will tour the area this Friday, May 5th.  A few more finishing touches, and we will be ready to go!

New Bus Dock Renovation Nears Completion

As part of the improved traffic pattern at Pennwood, our bus dock will move from Roelofs Road to the opposite side of the building.  Below are pictures of the work near completion.  We anticipate using the new, relocated bus dock for the opening of school in 2017.

Renovation of Gym A Begins

Work in Gym A, formerly called the Girls' Gym, is well underway.  In the pictures below you can see the bleachers being upgraded.  You can also see where the walls of the locker rooms and bathrooms were removed to make way for updated facilities.

Auditorium: Next Step

In an earlier post, I shared a picture of the auditorium chairs being removed.  Below is a photo of the completed demolition of the chairs and flooring.  In the next photo, the ceiling removal begins.  We now have a clean slate to move forward!
